I purchased this in order to be able to watch my tablet in bed.
As the arm was stretched out to hover over the bed, the unit topples over. While this is not strictly made for bed use and the problem can be mitigated by putting something heavy on the base, this ruins any portability it had. Apart from using it in the bed or where you don't have a small table, I can't really imagine other uses for such a stand.
Unfortunately I had to return it.
UPDATE: Seller reached out to me and was quick to address my concerns and provided a very reasonable solution. Very satisfied with the unexpected and outstanding customer service! Changed from 2 stars to 4 stars.
I will maintain though, that the stand I purchased (with the flat base) is not suitable for use in bed, as the base simply isn't heavy enough to overcome the weight of a tablet extended far out. Great concept, but flawed product. The base of the stand would have to be at least double or triple the weight (or more) to support full extension of the arm with a heavy tablet attached. Otherwise, it will fall over. The seller should try extending the arm fully, with a full size tablet, and incrementally add weights to the base, to determine what weight is necessary to keep the stand stable. Then it would be an excellent product and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it.
