Customer Review

This movie got a lot of positive reviews, so I ordered a copy when it was still pre-release. It arrived on release day, and I put it next to the TV with the best intentions to watch ASAP. Well, a month went by until I finally got a chance to watch. The story is simple: two WW1 British soldiers are tasked with seeking out a group of soldiers about to launch an attack, but it's an ambush. The movie follows the two as they go about their assigned task. I won't go into details to avoid spoilers, but the story is gripping, harrowing, and shows the strength and dedication of the soldiers.

What impressed me the most about the picture, though, was the cinematography. There's almost no cuts or scene shifts in the movie: it's as though the camera is a third person in the story, moving around the two leads in a single, long, artful shot. I ended up marveling at the photography as much as the story. I have no clue how they made this so seamless, but it's a masterclass in cinematography! Great movie!
