I noticed there was quite a bit of silicone residue on the cup when opening, so it's very important to give it a good scrub before using (it washed off with no issues). The texture of the cup is a matte silicone, almost like a second skin type of feeling. The travel pouch is very nice quality, thick and easy to open or close. The instructions do explain how to use the menstrual cup, but I wish they had more diagrams showing you how, especially being a first time user. You definitely have to find your own groove using this product. I would recommend using before your period to find what works best for you and your body. It didn't feel uncomfortable inserting the cup, just alot different than using a tampon. It did take me a few tries but I got the hang of it. No discomfort while using and I practically feel nothing. I wore a pad just in case and to truely test if it's leak free and so far so good. I had no issues taking out the menstrual cup and the stem really does help. This product does have alot of benefits as stated and saves you money in the long run. You just have to be willing to do the learning curve, but I think it's totally worth it.
