- Reviewed in Canada on May 22, 2024The product was adequately packaged and was easy to assemble with the included screwdriver (about 15 minutes). The whole assembly was bigger than I expected and quite colourful. I mounted it on a windy day and had to bury the pole to its full extent (probably about 10" or so) for it to withstand the wind. The pole was longer than I expected and is in three sections, so the middle section could be omitted for a lower mounting or better wind resistance if desired.
Despite the strong wind, the vanes were sluggish due to the extremely low quality ball bearings that the device uses. I put a few squirts of oil on the top surface of each bearing and they began to spin more freely after a day or two.
I put the bulb in bright, direct sunlight all day for several days to charge the batteries, but could not get even two hours of light out of it after dark. I wanted to use the device as a scarer to keep wildlife away from our freshly planted garden, so having the vanes turn easily and the light last all night are important.
While the device isn't the epitome of good taste, it's fun and I had high hopes for it. Sadly, it turned out to be another over-priced, poor quality product out of China. I'm returning it today.
