My reading during the pandemic has increased and my neck is taking the strain. So I thought maybe a reading apparatus would help. After much intensive research and a look on YouTube (not very helpful in this case), I decided upon the Readaeer Portable Book Holder; good reviews, light, a more relaxed reading position and it said it could take books inches thick.
It arrived. It is a little stiff but well constructed albeit plastic. But here is the rub. It has two paper-clip like thingy's that hold the book in place. As much as I could I fiddled with them to see if they would expand to hold a thick book. Unless I was missing something I couldn't fit a thick book without possibly bending the holders permanently. Even for smaller books, it was a tight fit. I couldn't see using it on most standard length hardcovers.
So I tried it a couple of times and decided that it wasn't right enough to save my neck or my books even though the price was right. I ended up returning it. And so it goes. It may work for you. I hope it does. But it didn't for me.
