We have a 2,400-square-foot home, and we use a stick vacuum for our kitchen and main hallway, which is about 600 square feet. A stick vacuum is perfect for in-between whole-house vacuums since our built-in vacuum has a heavy hose and a nuisance to pull out for small jobs.

We bought Fieety about 2 months ago to replace a more expensive Dyson stick vacuum. After 10 years and even a battery replacement, the Dyson was no longer doing the job. I thoroughly cleaned the unit and gave it the new battery, but it did not return to its former performance. I'm guessing the motor somehow got gunked up with dirt but was inaccessible to blow out.

The features and less expensive price drew me to the Fieety rather than purchase another Dyson. So far I haven't had any regrets. In every way, it surpassed the performance of the Dyson, even when it was new.

The Fieety has yet to disappoint me with its suction power. It gets all the dirt without any issues. (Note - we've only used it on tile and wood floors.) Importantly, the rotating brush roller seems to get fewer hair tangles than the Dyson. I also find it easier to dump the bin when it looks like it is getting full.

Compared to the Dyson, it has many more latches to get at the dust bin as well as adjustments for the height of the vacuum. Of note, is its ability to stand upright which is sometimes handy in the middle of a clean. I also like how I can convert it to a hand vacuum without having to add a nozzle, as it has a built-in brush nozzle.

The LED light on the front of the powerhead has proven much more useful than I thought it would be. When I first saw this feature I thought it might be gimmicky, or unhelpful, like who would vacuum in the dark? Instead, because of the light鈥檚 low angle, it highlights where the dirt is as it casts shadows behind the dirt. It definitely helps to make sure you don鈥檛 miss any spots.

The only issue we鈥檝e had with it was when it got jammed with pine needles when we were taking down the Christmas tree. To be fair, the Dyson also got jammed up too. What I liked about the Fieety, is the jam was in the handheld unit itself, where it was much easier to get at. With the Dyson, the pine needle jams were always in the power head where it was more difficult to unjam.

About a month ago, I recommended the Fieety to my mother-in-law, who promptly purchased it. She is new to stick vacuums but so far loves it for her 2000-square-foot home which has all wood floors.
