- Reviewed in Canada on December 19, 2022Yesterday, I poured over all of the positive reviews on this product, and thought to myself - These have to be FOSI bots of some sort. How can there be this many people speaking so highly of a phono-pre that only costs $72? I have tried this with all three of my home systems, which are of a high vintage quality. The phono stages in my fully restored Marantz 2245, and Yamaha CR-1020 are great, but not as good as the FOSI! It sounds beautiful up and down the spectrum. Nice tight bass, and a beautiful treble. There is no sacrifice on the mid-range (where human voice lives) either. I can't recommend this product enough. It is not just good for $72 dollars, it is good period. I have had phono-pre's that cost $500 dollars not sound as good as this. Some might say it is only a tube buffer, but I don't care. The end result is fantastic sound. Have I mentioned I have only used it for a couple of hours? What are these stock tubes going to sound like after breaking in? I am not even going to get the upgraded tubes - the ones that come with it are awesome. So go ahead, it's Christmas - treat yourself my friend!The media could not be loaded.
