It is not what you were expecting;
It is meta, it is self-aware, it is here to change the rules of the game it helped pioneer.
This will shake off fans hoping for a remix with "more of the same". It specifically examines the irony of all the nostalgic reboots in hollywood including itself, and the paradox of fans expecting something to "blow their mind" using the same formula. Requires multiple viewings to unpack the eastereggs, tributes to sense8 and Cloud Atlas fans, and winks to their peers also breaking out of the generic blockbuster formula.
Going in with an open mind & heart will allow you to enjoy the new angle, the emphasis on collective effort vs. a hero with an ego, of heart over mind, of equality amongst all variations of form (gender, race, AI, Nature) and the unique humour and wholesome message encased within this multidimensional work of art.
