Customer Review

  • Reviewed in Canada on September 28, 2024
I took these vitamins for over a year while pregnant/breastfeeding with my first daughter. We decided to try for a second child, so I reordered these vitamins again without much thought. I read the ingredients today and they are….confusing. Specifically the non medical ingredients.

One of the first ingredients listed is carmine, a colouring agent derived from bugs that has been known to cause allergic reactions in humans.

Followed by Titanium dioxide - a food colouring agent commonly added to pills to make them white. Although only very small amounts are used in supplements, animal studies have raised concerns that it could be carcinogenic and adversely affect the immune system and digestive tract.

There are 26 non medical ingredients in total. I did a quick search on 鶹 and found a lesser known brand called CanPrev and it lists 2 non medical ingredients - Vegetable-grade magnesium stearate and vegetable capsule.

I will be returning these vitamins and repurchasing a different brand without unnecessary and harmful ingredients.
