I did a lot of reviews on hand burr grinders, before I decided on this one...And this is one that came up on many websites as a good purchase. Quality wise , it is well made, I actually thought the bottom part was made of glass as it looks so nice, until I realized it is very heavy transparent plastic.. very impressed with that. I bought ours to be used for our French Press, and the recommended setting is 12 clicks CCW from the starting point, and that seems to be the right coarseness for the beans to be ground. The main issue some websites commented on , was that grinding course coffee worked well, but not perfect, as there is a bit of a wobble to the shaft when using wider openings, which causes the ground to be not as consistent as it should at courser settings , but for me, it works just fine. For finer ground settings, that is not an issue . It takes about a minute to ground 2 coffee cups worth of beans, and there is really not much effort involved, as the crank turns quite nicely. It's simply made, easy to clean, and does exactly what it is suppose to do. The hardest part is finding the perfect coffee bean that fits your particular tastes, as there are so many to choose from.
