The candle is nicely made. I have had beeswax candles in the past and they have never had a smell of honey at all even out of the packaging, so you can tell this is a quality, pure fresh candle. The honey smell was very strong (everyone who entered the room would comment on it, but not in a negative way) and I am not such a fan of the smell of honey so I waited a while before burning because I thought it would have the scent, but surprisingly it doesn't.
Despite the fact that I did let the candle burn 3 hours for the first use for a memory burn, I still had tunneling and I am still in the process of fixing it due to the wick breaking off even though I had extinguished it with melted wax to straighten it. So I had to cut it down a bit and I am slowly using the tinfoil method and it almost back to memory and should be fine. I have saved the cut off wax to add back in parts later to avoid wastage.
When lit the candle is gorgeous. It is one that I love meditating to, especially open eyed mindfulness meditations because the layers of colouring while lit and the dancing flame make it just hard to take your eyes off of it.
I love that this is a Canadian brand using Canadian beeswax. I have a few friends who love Beeswax so I went to their site to look around to see if they sold beeswax to work with to send them the link and I was surprised to see the different designs they have. I am in love with the Rustic Large pillar candle and many of the other wonderful designs. I would definitely get more for my self or as a gift.
