    Love these pencils!

They're mostly made of metal, and have a nice weight and heft to them¡ªthey're not tiring to write with, but on the contrary feel a lot more stable than lightweight pencils. Of course, a mostly-metal construction means it'll be a lot more durable, and indeed, these have survived over a year of lectures and exams without much damage (mostly to the plastic bits).

The body is slightly thinner than I like for gripping, but it hasn't been too much of a problem for me. I imagine if you grip the pen too hard, your fingers will cramp up faster than with a thicker pen.

Now, the main point: the automatic lead rotation. I used to have a habit of rotating the pencil in my fingers until I found the pointed side, so it was awkward to use this pencil at first, since my fingers were fighting with the rotation mechanism. Once I trained myself not to do that, I realised that it was a _lot_ nicer to use without having to constantly rotate the pencil every word. They pencil strokes aren't super-thin hairlines like if you always look for the point, but they're definitely manageable¡ªnice and dark, not too thick.

Mostly using the Kuru Toga-branded leads for these; I haven't tried commodity leads.
