LEGO is awesome - everything is awesome. This set is imaginative, builds beautifully and is a great companion to the DREAMZZZ TV series.
The problem is - and I think most people might be starting to feel this way - is that it i getting REALLY expensive, like poor value. I am getting to the point where I think we may have to reduce the amount we buy. And we buy a lot.
It feels like in the past few years the price went up exponentially but the structures became over-simplified, almost like LEGO was reducing the amount of bricks or using smaller pieces and calling it "xxx [ieces". In some cases it's really beyond silly, for example oversimplifying the legs of the young dragon in the Ninjago Dragons Rising sets. I noticed it in the Jurassic World sets also.
One I can understand, but both - nope, that's going too far. Inflation and shrinkflation are a double whammy that indicates that it really is about LEGO's bottom-line, and that is a real shame. I get how business works, sure. But when you start nibbling away at the overall value there's a tipping point where it becomes no longer worth it. We may be getting there (if we haven't already).
