I loved the film; more because it actually took its time to develop and treat me as an intelligent human being. It's a highly worthy follow-up (only 40 years later!) to The Shining and it does get deeper with each viewing. Characters - and their development - were rounded, pained, human and good to spend time with. I did not get to see this in cinemas (a regret) but am so glad to have had the chance to catch up. Kudos to Flanagan as well; I'll be searching out his other projects shortly. One of the very best of 2019.
