  This cable is Amazing. (I use this everyday)
  It runs all old laptop drives no problem... however =)
  It's true power is with Sata3 SSDs, It runs any old SSD at full transfer speed for 500+MBs (just make sure to update Thunderbolt system drivers)
  It even works with mSata or M.2 dual raid adapters, like startech's own.
  Peek transfers theoretically can hit 1250MBs but MAX 1000-1100MBs are more realistic.
  In this combination you can use this cable/drive combination as an external boot drive for systems that need to use multiple OSs, or fast external storage.
