  Nintendo is more interested in selling is players, than providing transferable software. Wii software doesn't work on Wii U and Switch is again different, so that you have to purchase the same software programs, again. The same goes with the DS players. The New Nintendo DS3 player software doesn't work the old Nintendo DS3 player, therefore you have to purchase the same software, again. I am not happy with their greedy operation and will not be purchasing any of their players in the future
