  I have an older Samsung non-smart TV and the additional HDMI port suddenly stopped working, however the main port was still functioning. Rather than having to constantly swap that HDMI cable out and potentially damage the only remaining HDMI port, I tried this splitter.
  
  Works like a charm!! Now I can have 3 HDMI sources attached (cable box, Roku, and a Microsoft Wireless Display gadget). I can easily switch between them with the remote. Also, the switch itself if VERY light so I just hang it off of the wall bracket so everything is hidden in behind. It comes with a black remote sensor that I attached to the bottom of the TV (it is almost invisible). The package even comes with the sticky tape for the sensor!
  
  Saved me from having to buy a brand new TV!! You will however, need one extra HDMI cable to go from the TV to the box. I got a small 1 foot length which is perfect for this.
