- Reviewed in Canada on January 15, 2016December 1, 2019. Here we are again. I recently opened the box containing my third one of these to hook up to another computer. One channel was operating intermittently. When I investigated my wire terminations in the back of the amplifier the spring terminal parts fell out. I could not put it back together and for now just have the wire jammed in the hole. I will jury rig a terminal when I recover from a medical procedure that I recently went through. As seems to be the case with many Chinese electronics components, they can make very good sounding equipment but quality control is abysmal.
I recently bought three of these amplifiers on the strength of my success with the one I bought a couple of years ago. The one that I reviewed back then is still working great on my computer. One of the new ones, however, failed after just one month of operation, driving bookshelf speakers in my wife's work out room at very modest sound levels. Just as happened to another reviewer, it went to full volume and the volume knob no longer made a difference. I have not yet tried the other two of the three I purchased, they are still in their original boxes, unopened. I checked to see if I could return the defective unit but I am 4 days late to do that. I could not find a way to contact the original seller and I don't see that there is a warranty outside of the one month return period. I may have to eat the cost of this one but I hope I don't have to eat the other two as well.

I have excellent audio equipment at home and this amplifier is not part of that. For the price, however, I am pleased. It has replaced an ailing computer amplifier and it sounds better than that. I have connected an old pair of Tannoy bookshelf speakers to it and it has more than enough power to drive them to beyond comfortable listening levels. The Bass Treble and volume control operate without static and actually feel quite good in the hand. Some reviewers indicated that the controls felt cheap, maybe that is one of the upgrades in this version. My wife is eyeing it up for some of her school presentations. It is very light in weight and runs completely cool.
