  Anything you put in front of your lens will decrease the quality of your pictures. This frame if different from the other lens protectors by protecting only the surrounding of the lens. It doesn't protude too much and will protect the lens rings, which is ideal for me since I prefer to use skins instead of case (it also fit with a lot of cases). It won't protect direct hit on the lens, but for every small hit it gets directly when you put the phone down, this will be mitigated in the frame instead of the lens.
