  One needs to unscrew four screws in order to clean it. The provided space for the octenol does not keep the octenol in place, it gets unglued and falls off. I had to improvise how to keep it there by taping it in place. The first one I bought had a reasonable length of cord. On the other hand, it is very effective in controlling mosquitoes. It is the first summer that I can sit outside for hours without being bothered by them. I was so happy with it despite the drawbacks that I decided to buy a second one. It had a ridiculously short cord and didn't work at all. I tried it in three different electrical outlets and it just didn't light up. I am returning it of course.
