- Reviewed in Canada on October 12, 2023I am a truck driver. I bought this camera to use at the rear of the trailer, to assist me with judging how far to back up to other trailers, walls, etc. Also in case I have to back up unexpectedly, to see if there are any people or cars behind me.
1st off, I鈥檓 not overly impressed with the magnet strength. I made a tether cable for it, and thankfully I did, because it did fall off once on me.
It says that it has 100鈥 range with no obstacles, and says recommended length of vehicle is 35鈥. I have not tried the 100鈥 claim & I would say that the 35鈥 trailer length is about right. When I have it mounted towards the rear of my 53鈥 trailer, it comes in & out while driving, but seems to work pretty good once I stop for a few seconds. I knew it was a stretch when I bought it whether it would work for me, if I knew exactly how it would work, I鈥檓 not sure I would have bought it. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants use it within the 35鈥 range, it should work great.
Lastly, I don鈥檛 like the plug to cover the charging port. After about 4-5 uses, now it does not plug in without a struggle. I can get the 鈥渦sb鈥 part to plug in, but the round hole for the direct wiring doesn鈥檛 seem to like going in. I can usually get it in most of the way after messing with it for a minute or two, but I wonder how water proof it鈥檒l be if I use it in rain.
