- Reviewed in Canada on November 7, 2024I've been using this dashcam for three years, and overall, it's been a solid performer for daytime recording. The front camera provides excellent clarity, making it easy to capture important details on the road. However, the rear camera falls a bit short in quality, which is noticeable when you compare footage from both.
At night, the performance isn鈥檛 as impressive. Low-light conditions significantly reduce the dashcam鈥檚 effectiveness, and if it鈥檚 raining, the visibility goes down even more. Unfortunately, it becomes nearly useless in such weather.
Another downside is the power consumption if you decide to hardwire it for continuous monitoring. I found that it drains the car battery quickly, and I鈥檝e had to jumpstart my car more than once because of it. This is definitely something to consider if you're looking for around-the-clock monitoring.
Also, somehow, the time displayed on the clock shows a 10/15 minute deviation from the actual time after around one month, even if you reset it back. Not sure why that happens.
All in all, considering the price, it鈥檚 a decent dashcam with good performance during the day. For the price, I鈥檇 say it鈥檚 worth it if you鈥檙e mostly concerned about daytime driving. I鈥檓 giving it 4 stars because, despite the drawbacks, it still offers good value.
