  We have a deep soaker tub, and neither my husband nor I are able to step over the side anymore to access the shower, but since our house is old and would probably need a great deal of renovation, replacing the tub with a walk-in tub is not a practical option. This bench makes the tub accessible as a shower. It doesn’t quite clear the top of the tub (23”) but was easily modified by placing a 2x4 underneath the outside legs. Highly recommend this sturdy bench which allows you to sit on the portion outside the tub, slip one leg over the tub, slide across the bench and slip the other leg over. under $100 or $10,000, the choice was clear.
