I have found this form of Vitamin C the best to use. Most others are the chewing kind. I don't like the flavor of those, although I do have to cut these particular pills in half to swallow easily. Many years ago I was told by a medical doctor to only take Vitamin C when coming down with a cold and take 6000 mg at a time. This approach has worked well for me and the cold is gone in a couple of days. As I am not a doctor but do have extensive medical knowledge I cannot speak to anyone with any authority, but this has worked for me for many years.
