- Reviewed in Canada on December 9, 2021I ordered 2 of these. I normally buy alot of ugreen stuff because it's pretty good for fairly cheap. These sata enclosures were a decent price but do not work properly. Every drive I've put in it even in the usbc port only transfers at half speed as if in a sata port. SSD's HDD's everything all half speed. Everything also stutters transferring as well cutting in and out. I kept them because I needed to clone windows onto another drive and 2 external drives instead of taking apart a laptop and doing it internally is just more convenient. At the cost of doing it at half the speed. I would recommend if you need to turn a SATA into external storage but not for copying slower hard drives with alot of data. Especially not cloning from a slow hard drive with a lot of data on it to another. 3 stars because it works but not that great. The cables aren't that great because they have difficulty connecting to USB 3.0 adapters .I even tried these enclosures with an Anker thunderbolt 3 cable capable of 40 Gb/s. Also the first few times I tried putting drives in they would go in nicely but trying to get them out the enclosure had a death grip on the drive and I had to strain pretty hard to get it out. It eventually got pretty good after. When it comes to technology and especially memory products like hard drives now I am finding a lot more hit and miss these days from all the major companies as well, and more misses than hits to tell you the truth.
