  My desktop and its metal frame are around 3cm tall, the screw is long enough with plenty of space for this to clamp on just fine.
  
  I never fold it up, so I can't speak to how it is when you fold it, but it's great unfolded with the headphones on it.
  
  It has notches, not sure what that's for, maybe to hang the cable over. My cable is quite long so it touches the floor, so I don't really use this feature of it.
  
  I have multiple headsets, I might buy another one.
