First thing's first: this is an excellent budget or backup smartphone in the even that your primary phone get damaged or breaks some way, some how (for the ones who are more visual, I encourage to view this phone as a Mitsu Mirage - has everything you'll need to do the job, successfully, but of course it's not a hand-built AMG).
The packaging was indeed a US wireless carrier packaging (possibly a pre-paid smartphone??) but nonetheless the unit that I got was in excellent condition (as in I tore through and opened all of the original packaging INCLUDING the packaging for the phone itself, etc.) so I don't actually know what satisfies the 鶹 Renewed qualifications.
The unit that I got was indeed unlocked from the start since the moment that I put in my old sim (the sim card tray has a regular sized sim card slot plus a nano sim card slot), the phone already updated the time, date, and wireless carrier - Fido in my case. Took another 45 minutes for the system updates and Play store updates after connecting to wifi.
The phone is performing well and does everything I need the phone to do. For those who are on the fence and still deciding, the reality of the situation is that this phone in particular is not a flagship phone. I took a leap of faith on this phone and the price that I paid was an added bonus so I know that I'll be able to get a few years of use before buying another phone. Other than that my review is consistent with either the 4 or 5 star reviews.
