If all you need is a basic phone, this is the one. My father is 80 and he is allergic to technology (seriously, he breaks out in curse words). I bought him several basic flip phones from Koodo, my provider, and every single one has been garbage. While this Cat phone is not perfect, it is a huge leap above the other "senior's" phones on the market. Once I disabled or deleted all the unnecessary bloat ware included in every phone (not that hard or that much on this one) it works flawlessly. It has excellent clarity on speaker and microphone for making and receiving calls, plenty of volume, and is simple to learn to use. My father actually likes that it is a bit heavy and thick, as he has dropped a few of his other phones and not one has ever survived a single drop without something breaking. This one seems like it could take a bit of abuse without issue. The battery is good for 2 days or more of use (he never goes on internet with it, and why would you on a 2.75 inch screen), and the phone does exactly what it should without fuss. Only gripe I have is the actual dialing of the phone. The keys are large, easy to read, and have a nice tactile feel when using them, but the touch screen for speed dialing is annoying. pressing the green phone to dial brings up a contact list, which is great, but selecting the person to call only bring up a half menu with a tiny dial phone on the bottom corner. This should be much larger, or have the option to just press the dial button to call once the person is selected, but it doesn't. You have to either touch the bottom left of the screen on the tiny phone symbol. Not a deal breaker, but annoying and counter intuitive. He has only had the phone a day or two, and now that I have coached him how to properly use it as a "dumb phone) and disabled or deleted all the other stuff he likes it a lot. Can't comment on durability yet, but if there are issues, I will update. Hope this helps
