Horrible buzzing sound through speakers

The unit I received outputs an awful buzzing sound through the speakers. I isolated this unit using a ups on battery disconnecting it from the wall to ensure it was not feedback from my house wiring. Buzzing is audible at all volumes but most noticeable on lower volume. Listening to podcasts is not possible with the noise.
