That said, the coating of the base will not be very long lasting, the paint has already chipped at the connections and I will have to clear away the rust and repaint it for the next season. (had it been galvanized, would have been definitely better!) The frame however is made of really heavy gauge pipes, you will probably go through 3 cars by the time this would rust away... The color and pattern of the fabric is really pleasing, it's pretty strong, we often hung out two in it and it gave no signs of weakness! it's not really suitable for two people though - your bodies will be squeezed together since there is no stretching rod on either ends of the fabric; We never leave the fabric out in the sun if not in use because the sun's UV rays would not only fade it out but would probably chew up the material as well. I don't think it would get moldy because of rain as long as it's left to dry properly. The adjustable hanging hooks are a great idea for the right tension! Since the frame is so heavy duty you will be very unlikely to carry it with you very often even though there is a bag included with it.
It's a great hammock and the price was very good, we're pretty happy with it!
