The 3M adhesive backing is great, and what I've come to expect from the 3M brand. The adhesive sticks well to smooth surfaces like a plastic case and not so much a textured case. Applying this metal plate to my phone case just under my MagSafe magnetic ring, I can use any other type of magnetic phone holder and the magnetization is very strong. No worries of my phone falling off while driving over speed bumps or on unfinished roads.
Overall, these metal plates work great. The 2 small circle ones are a bit small in my opinion for larger style phones but it might work for smaller phones.
