  I've tried several different car mounts nut they tend to be overly complicated and needing to use a USB-C connection not just to charge but to operate electrically-driven clamps to hold the phone. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. This car mount holds to an air vent firmly and doesn't come loose. The magnet is extremely strong - your phone will not fall off; so strong that you may need to slide the phone off, not pull it straight off. I like it - simple, strong grip, and works better than expected.
