- Reviewed in Canada on May 29, 2024I have a large number of smart home devices and have been looking for a simple smart thermostat to operate my baseboard heaters. This thermostat perfectly fit my needs. I have used the Meross Garage door opener for years and experienced its reliability first hand (it has never failed) so I decided to try another Meross product hoping for the same results.The media could not be loaded.
Starting with the setup 鈥 it was a very quick and easy swap between my existing thermostat and this one. Things to note: make sure you have a NEUTRAL WIRE in your existing electrical box. This will not work without one. The box also included pre-labeled stickers for all the wiring as well which was very helpful and great for future upgrades if necessary. Once the power was turned off at the breaker, it really was a simple 5 minute swap. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.
I have now been using this thermostat for a month through the variable spring season and it has performed well. The temperature sensor is very accurate and quick to respond to changing temperatures within the home. Also, I have this thermostat setup within my Apple Home and it is very simple and easy to set and control the temperature from any of my smart devices. Even in the native Meross app, I鈥檝e encountered no problems with interacting with the device. Both methods provide quick and easy ways to monitor and adjust temperature settings.
The best part though is all that tinkering isn鈥檛 really necessary. I have found that the thermostat does a great job at automatically adjusting the temperature as needed based on the settings I鈥檝e already setup. So it鈥檚 really a set it and forget it kind of experience. It鈥檚 just nice to be able to quickly check my phone to see what鈥檚 the temperature at home or to turn off the heat if I forgot to while on a trip.
Of course, any home device like this should be around for the long term (10+ years) so I鈥檒l be updating this review in future if anything changes with my experience. But so far, a very happy camper.
