- Reviewed in Canada on January 14, 2025Was looking for vertical GPU kit in White. My case says it supports a GPU vertically, atop the power supply shroud, with a couple standoffs. Tried that. Seemed way too flimsy. Plus the $40 riser cable didn't work. So I bought this kit, after checking out reviews.
The metal parts are beefy and strong. The cable of good quality. ( full PCIe 4 x16 speed )
However, mounting the metal support cage in my particular case (white 3500 ) proved painstaking, and time consuming. It's solidly in place, now, after much screwing about, and ultimately superglue. After going thru the process first hand, I recommend to anyone considering a vertical mount, to purchase a name brand case, which has available, the factory riser kit, made for that case. ( life made easier !) BUT, if you need to retro fit your existing case, and don't mind mucking about with mounting the new cage, this is a good solution. I like that the cage separates into 2 parts. The part that mounts to your case is the tricky part. The other part is like a slide in tray, holding the GPU and riser cable. So long as you have the room, it slides neatly into place. Additionally, you can also slide the GPU/tray away from the motherboard a bit, as your case allows. Should be easy to swap GPU's in future, too. Recommended.
