About two years ago, I added Shilajit to the supplement regimen and have used it in two forms. Before using the capsule, I had used it in the tar-like paste form. What I appreciate the most is NOT having to deal with the taste that comes with the tar/paste version. The tar-like version tastes bad, and it's hard to get the right amount for one dose. I literally need to jab a metal tool (provided) into the paste and pull out an approximation of what looks like the correct amount.
Capsules are definitely the best way to go when it's something that gets taken daily.
As with many supplements that help the human body, I cannot state that I have noticed any significant changes in the way I feel. When I see my healthcare provider and we go over how I'm doing, he keeps telling me to keep using it. As long as this is the case, I will do so. The main thing to keep in mind is that Shilajit itself doesn't provide any kind of a boost to the body or mind (cognitive/memory), but it's suggested that this does help the body absorb other vitamins and nutrients, which results in a positive feeling, like drinking a cup of coffee. It also provides antioxidants that help the immune system. Along with that, getting some extra trace minerals is a good idea. This is especially true for me in the winter when we're buying vegetables grown in large operations where the soil is often depleted of these minerals.
The difference between this and some other supplements is that the boost comes from the body being able to properly absorb nutrients, but on its own, it doesn't offer much of a kick on the butt to get me going.
鈻 It is Health Canada certified - NPN 80135650 鈻 Expiry on my bottle is 02/2027 鈻 PUREFULLY is a Canadian company 鈻 These capsules are made in Canada, but the Shilajit is obviously sourced elsewhere 鈻 Soy-Free 鈻 Non-GMO 鈻 Gluten-Free 鈻 GMP Certified
So, to reiterate, this does not give a boost like you get from a coffee; it allows the other supplements a person uses to be more readily absorbed, which then gives somewhat of a boost. By so doing, it allows for more of the other supplements to actually get absorbed, allowing me to get more bang for my buck. Additionally, getting some extra trace minerals is a good thing for most people these days. 馃憖 Before starting any supplement that's not a "standard," such as Vitamins C and D, it's a good idea to talk with your healthcare provider. I always see our holistic practitioner and have him test whether or not I should be using anything new. Everyone's physiology and nutrition requirements can vary greatly.
