The base is rubberized on both surface, top and bottom , so it won鈥檛 damage the surface you mount it to (ie desk, table etc) The lever to vice the base to your favorite surface has a ratchet handle, perfect for tight spots.
The base has an extra tube you can use if you want more clearance on your desk. The arm itself is very sturdy and will stay in the position you moved it without any tools. To manage your cable on the arm, simply slide off the rubber channel , and put it back on after you placed your cable. ( your cable can still be adjusted as the slider does not restrict cable movement.
Lastly , the ball mount on this arm is perfect for positioning your microphone any way possible.
I use this arm daily and i cannot find anytbing bad to say about it!
