  I noticed some reviewers said this gets "stuck" and doesn't cut thicker stems. What I discovered is that you have to hold it or adjust the angle for the job you are doing at the moment and never "fill" the blades (use the top 2/3s so the hinge doesn't get jammed). It cuts grass just fine. I have cut thicker weeds with it as well, but it is advertised as "grass shears", so one should not expect it to cut stronger weeds. My only problem is that my hand gets very tired and aches if I use it for very long. Overall, a good product for light trimming without bending over and getting a backache.
