This is a desktop clamp cup holder. The clamp itself is metal with a rubber clamping grip. And the cup holder itself is pure plastic.
I really wish the entire construction was a lightweight alloy instead of flimsy plastic that can easily snap off if not used gently. I can imagine the plastic arms snapping off if I am not as gentle as I should be placing the water bottle into the cup holder. This is the weakest link.
The product itself works just fine. And it does accomodate various cup sizes . For that im happy. Having this extra desk accessory helps clear up desktop space and also even helps from accidental spills on the keyboard or other electronic gadgets on the desk.
