- Reviewed in Canada on May 7, 2022Man alive, this thing is quiet! I've only been using it for 3 days, but it's the finest watch winder I've ever owned, and I've owned several (about 7). It winds my Orient Blue Ray 2 perfectly and does it with almost no noise. Very impressed!
Edit: 2-year update: This little thing just doesn't stop. I've had it now for 2 years and 2 months, and it's still as quiet as ever, and continues to wind my Orient Blue Ray 2 every night.
It's important to note that this winder is unidirectional, meaning it only spins in one direction. For most watches, this is fine, but I've personally found that it won't wind Seiko watches (any model). Other watches (Orient, Rolex, Omega) are just fine on this winder.
It doesn't spin continually (24-hour, non-stop motion is not good for your timepiece's internal movement). It spins for about 2 minutes, then rests for about 6–8 minutes.
After over 2 years of continual operation, though, I can safely say that this watch winder is the quietest in my collection; it does make some sound, but it's barely noticeable. It's incredibly durable, too. The PU Leather, the stitching, and the plastic view window have all held up very well over the time that I've owned it. To be honest, if I wipe it down with a damp cloth (which is fine for PU leather and clear plastic), it looks brand new - even 2 years after purchase.
As long as you're not trying to wind a Seiko watch, this is the best value accessory you'll find for your timepiece under a hundred bucks.
Edit: 3-year update: I purchased this winder in May of 2022, and it's still going strong. When I purchased it, it made a little bit of noise, but it was still the quietest winder I had at the time. Now, in 2025, it seems to have "broken in" beautifully - it makes absolutely no sound. In fact, I sometimes have to glance over at it to see if it's still working because it's SO quiet. I've never oiled it, never given it any special attention, and because it's so reliable, I have reserved this winder for my favourite timepiece.
This was one of the best accessory purchases I have ever made for my timepiece collection. I'm thoroughly impressed.
