  My original LQ drain pump lasted 12 years before breaking, so I opted to go with the OEM LG replacement rather than a cheaper aftermarket option (which many reviews indicate failed fairly quickly).
  
  The repair process for my model was pretty straightforward. Getting the spring clamp assembly for the front panel door boot was the hardest part. If your model requires you to remove this in order to get at the pump, I recommend you purchase the spring expansion tool as well. An extra $20 may save you a lot of time and aggravation.
