You’ve got your toolbox ready, and you’re determined to tackle that stubborn bathtub drain. You grab your trusty drain removal tool, but it refuses to cooperate. I found removing the drain difficult as I have used every other drain removal tool and they don't work. This was easy to use, but I have an old house and years of soap scum, hair, and hard water can caused my drain to be stuck, making removal harder.
I had to a mixture of vinegar and baking soda to break down buildup. Let it sit for 30 minutes before trying again.
I also applied some heat to the drain with a hairdryer so the metal could expand and make the drain easier to unscrew.
