I bought this because the item description said the wattage was 1875 W resistive. I have a portable water heater that's 1600 W, and it melted some of my cords and the previous timer. I blamed the outlet mostly, but I wanted a better timer. When I received this timer, it said 1000 W. I went back to the item description - 1875 W or 1000 W? I decided to take a chance.
One of this timer's sockets is now fused to my water heater plug. That's not a terrible thing by itself, since I prefer to have the water heater timed. The heater and timer both still work. I just would like to be able to remove it if necessary. It also shows that the timer's wattage can't handle my heater.
As far as the design goes, it's nice. It's simple, yet you have a lot of options. I can quickly change the settings, unlike the clock/pin design for some other timers. If I were using this for lights, it would be fantastic.
However, I bought it for my water heater based on the stated wattage, and it doesn't work for that reason. I give it 3 stars.
