I have tested this both on a phone and on a pc. When I pair it to a device, some apps will see it and others won't.

On the phone, when I pair it directly, some apps like Carista or Car Scanner Pro will see it and work immediately. OBD Link/OBD Fusion and Dr. Hybrid seem to require pairing within the app seperately afterwards with the same pairing process. So even if you have paired it and you can see the option, you still have to put it in pair mode for the apps to use it. Once paired it is no longer needed.

On the PC the same thing occurs. If paired in windows, you can start using AlphaOBD and Forscan immediately. In OBDWiz, it will not show up in the Bluetooth listing until you hit pair again.

The funny part is I was able to pair and use their firmware update tool and connect to other apps flawlessly while using their own application on either PC or android was more cumbersome. Dr. Hybrid I was more understanding on because it is not their OBD2 adaptor. Once paired, it would stay paired in subsequent uses.

When compared to OBDLink EX, Once the Windows drivers were installed all software saw it immediately. On Android with a USB-A adaptor attached to the Phone, OBDLink also saw the adaptor but no other apps could. The ability to use it on other android apps while still being able to use the expansions I purchased on PC was the reason I bought the MX+

Also the Free unlimited OEM-specific data add-ons advertised is for OBDLink only. OBDWiz is not included in this offer even though it is the free Windows software. So OBDLink(Free)=OBD Fusion(Paid) is the same as OBDWiz(Free)=TouchScan(Paid). You will still need to buy the OBDWiz OEM enhancements separately.

Also even though OBDLink is suppose to be the same as OBD Fusion it does not have feature parody. At the core it look and worked the same but I found out that OBD Fusion had Android Auto support while OBDLink does not. I tested Android Auto and it is very limited. Either way, there is no documentation about there being any differences or comparisons.

The device worked fine and pairing was for the most part straight forward.

Using the specific software for this device, it has a customization icon for Toyota and Lexus. I have a RAV4 Prime. it could not write/change values. All I get is an error. screen shots are included in this review.

Ultimately is lost 2 stars for 3 reasons. 1) had to double pair with their own software just pairing with the phone like many third party apps. 2) Parts of the app it is intended for does not work. 3) lack of information comparing OBDLink with OBD Fusion.
