  This product outwardly appears the same as the excellent one I've used in school. However, it does not perform well and is cheaply made. Although he cutting blades are sharp and of good quality, the housing holding the gears is plastic and flimsy. It also does not sharpen the pencil accurately, often leaving the pencil point off-center. I am disappointed with this sharpener, and do not recommend it.
