I purchased the Bosch RA1181 Benchtop Router Table that has the aluminum top, some reviews said it was cast iron but its not. Anyways just keep in mind when you buy this unit you will most likely want to buy a router lift for it and yea Bosch makes a decent one at a good price point that works well with this router table, also id recommend you pickup a set of offset wrenches as it does save time and frustration while changing bits. Overall I am very happy with this unit, I went with this unit as it fits in nicely on my delta table saw, the router table replaced one of the stamped wings. I wont be using the stand but it does seem fine, its just a regular plastic stand nothing special there.
Now the bad and I don鈥檛 know if other customers have this issue as I haven鈥檛 seen a review mention the problem I had. The table top needs work, my unit has a pretty flat top for my needs but the finish was absolutely horrible, I could pretty much sand my work piece on the table as it was incredibly rough, luckily the top is aluminum which as you know is quite soft, I spent about two hours sanding the top smooth, I went 80grit/120/220/320 wet sand with water and a few drops of soap added and then finally a paste wax boiled lineseed oil mixture I like to use and now the table top is like an air hockey table. Based on the pictures on this listing the table top鈥檚 appear nice but if not its an easy two hour correction. I do recommend this unit for the price point and general quality and lets be ihonest if you want a perfect high end router table then you will have to pay far more
