One of my favorite games of all-time, I keep a PS3 around just so I can play it. But maybe not for much longer...
Having played this several times over the years, this version was quite eye-opening! The 1080p resolution really enhances the game (it runs at 720p on PS3), and with the new 60-FPS patch the game just looks so fluid. Draw distance also seems greatly improved; the pop-in for trees and buildings often annoyed me in the original release, but the world seems constant and stable here (note: I am playing on PS5).
With more clarity there are some drawbacks. The game shows its age at 13 years, with character models, textures, animations, and cut-scenes all looking in need of some polish.
That said I do enjoy revisiting this game often, so the visuals are rather nostalgic for me and not a deal-breaker.
