Abby Jimenez creates a beautifully endearing story of just such a dilemma and fills it with life, despair, choices and love. The author does a wonderful job of capturing not only the ups and downs of a family facing a dementia diagnosis but also of how it affects family dynamics. When Samantha realizes that her middle age mother has rapidly progressing dementia, returning home seems like the only answer. Unfortunately, that means leaving behind a man, Xavier, who seems to be her soulmate. I loved this story, even when I cried.
