- Reviewed in Canada on January 2, 2017Like everyone else who has seen this film and laughed out loud at these two stars playing detective, I checked and they're probably not going to make a sequel. This film like a lot of great films just didn't make enough money at the box office to warrant a Nice Guys 2 or Nicer Guys 2. Yet, this film is very, very funny, and is a new incarnation for both Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling, acting/reacting in a way they each have never have done before. Who knew Ryan Gosling was this funny? Who knew Russell Crowe was this funny? I have seen both stars in all their films, and was delighted to find yet another facet of their acting abilities in humour, by playing reluctant partners in a detective story. In case you are of an age, and you remember the 70's, kudos to the set designer...yes, the 70's really were that ugly, from the wardrobe, to the wall paper, the furniture, the white wicker headboards, you name it, the set designer did a stunning job re-creating the times. We were laughing so hard, we had to rewind the dvd to catch the jokes we were missing because were laughing so hard. If you are not busting a gut at these two guys in the first ten minutes of the dvd, please don't blame me, I loved this film.4 people found this helpfulReport PermalinkHelpful
