  I needed range extender in my house because I could not get strong signal in the garage from my office where the wi-fi router is located. D-Link is a pretty well known brand and I own few items made by the company that lasted me years and still going strong.
  
  I was pleasantly surprised how small it is, how simple is setup and how strong is the signal.
  
  Setup was very simple following provided instructions. Once connected signal showed 3 bars even at the furthest from the router corner in the house. It creates a new network using the original network name by adding "-EXT" to it, which sadly requires you to maintain multiple networks, but it uses the same password and modern equipment using Wi-Fi usually automatically connects to the new network when connection is lost.
  
  It solved my connection issues in the garage where I get very strong signal now and can connect my Wi-Fi switch for the decorations, lights and other equipment at the front of the house.
