- Reviewed in Canada on March 13, 2023I bought this for a noisy machine shop. I needed something that was loud enough but still had somewhat decent sound quality at higher volumes. I've been using an Ion Tailgater daily for 8 hours a day for the last approximately 7 years. This speaker has a lot better sound than the Tailgater. Keep in mind that because of where I use it I'm not judging it with audiophile standards. I flashed the firmware to 2.36 as soon as I got it. It may have had it already but I wasn't sure how to check so I flashed it just in case.
Likes:
- sound quality
- liquid/dust resistant features (buttons and input port cover)
- way ligher than my old speaker.
- great carrying handle
- vertical layout takes up less space
- half the price of the competition at listed full price. (1/3 the price at constant sale/coupon price)
- lighting is bright and vivid
Dislikes:
- I like the IEC320 C13 power cable on the Ion tailgater better because it feels more sturdy. The barrel charging port feels a little more prone to damage when abusing it.
- when you turn off the lighting, it comes back on after you power the device off and back on again.
- if the lighting comes back on atleast let me pick a specific colour
- wish the bluetooth volume of the paired device would override the speakers main volume.
Overall great speaker for the price especially in loud/industrial environments.
